i5 4690k + z97 OC mobo + r9 290 or i5 4460 + non OC mobo + GTX 970?

So i am building a PC with a 1000€ budget (counting with monitor) and i need to know what will perform and make the most difference all around! I want to start playing new games and stuff but i don't need Ultra settings AAx3000000000 and that! I want to play all games 1080p at least high settings! What do you think? Intel i5 4690k + z97 overclocking motherboard + r9 290 or Intel i5 4460 + non overclocking motherboard + GTX 970? My build is:

Case: Zalman Z11 HF1 - 64,90€
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - 29,90€
Monitor: (doesn't matter here) - 100-150€
SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SATA III - 64,50€
CPU: Intel i5 4690k - 252,00€
GPU: MSI r9 290 - 317,90€
Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro Gamer - 149,90€

Keep in mind that the r9 290 is 317,90€ and the GTX 970 is 379,90€ / i5 4690k is 252€ and i5 4460 is 182,00€!

If youre gonna settle with 4690k and the GTX 970, keep your ram and get a decent psu. I wont suggest that you get a 750w psu which is a future proof for sli-ing. So for now get a 550w psu from trusted brands and upgrade later as you must.

That's not very good advice. The price differance usally is not that much so buying a 550 watt one now then upgrading to a.bigger one makes little since.

So i'm going i5 4690k + GTX970 + z97 pro gamer + 750W for future proof, sounds good!?

#1: Overclocking may take time for beginners, if you dont have anyone supervising you, its gonna be troublesome. But if you dont wanna bother yourself with hours of trial and erros, go for Intel i5 4460 + non overclocking motherboard + GTX 970, with 970 you`ll be able to run most games at ultra in most cases.

You havent mention what psu are you planning to get so lemmi jus give ya a suggestion instead, any 550w psu from trusted brands such as seasonic, evga, xfx, antec or corsair

Havent seen a ram too, If i were you ill ditch the kingstone since its auto set to 1.65w compare to a Corsair vengence thats already set to 1.5w w/c is a sweet spot for rams. so yea. corsair vengeance 8gb 1600 mHz 2 x 4, get the dual kit so you can take advantage of dual channel feature which is faster than a single kit (1x8)

optional ram: Rip jaws g skill 8gb 1600mHz

Well, i've never overclocked anything... i forgot to put the ram but it was G.Skill Kit 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Ripjaws CL9, Corsair vengence is too much money... But the difference is 60€ on the r9 290 for the GTX 970, is it worth it?

r9 290 is power hungry while the gtx 970 is somewhat nature friendly, it wont give you much diffrence in terms of performance. so ill go with the gtx 970 plus you cannot overclock the r9 290 not unless you`ll get the 290x.

Please for the love of god don't be an uneducated tool...
The r9 290 is random with overclocking but gets huge gains from minimal (1050 core-1200 core) overclocking it has 4gb of vram and performs within in most cases 5-10 fps of the 970.Yes it does draw more power but the raw performance and the benefit of offloading things to the gpu provides greater speed in a lot of circumstances as always go the most cost effective route. The 970 has 4gb of vram and only takes a hit on the last bit witch is 500 mb of slower vram that is still usable when used at 4k. Both are great cards. if you like streaming or rendering videos I recomend the 290 if you like just gaming then the 70. In gaming the difference is very minimal though
