i5 6400 or fx-8350

Hi. Thank u guys for your help. I decided to let my old mobo go. I came across an i5 6400 . I was planning on upgrading to the amd fx 8350 but heard intel is much better even though it as less cores. Im plannig on gaming and i have a tight budget. Whats better for gaming , an i5 6400 or the fx- 8350 ? Thanks for ur help

The i5 is better if you absolutely want to buy and build now.

If you can wait a few more months though, AMD's R3 and R5 should give you a whole lot more bang per buck than either of those options.

FX is dead yes.. Performance isn't as poor as you think. FX-8350 still offers a good performance ratio, Gaming isn't the only thing people buy parts for. I wouldn't recommend anyone actually buy them now with Ryzen out and chips like the G4560 though.
