[SOLVED] I5 6600k problems in fortnite

Fortnite maxes out my I5 6600k overclocked to 4.1 ghz on all low settings and even lower resolutions. I’m running a gtx 1060 6gb with it. My game stutters a lot and I can tell it is the cpu. Why is this? Anything I can do to fix it?

Lowering settings increases the FPS the gpu can produce, this puts the cpu workload up trying to keep up with the gpu. If 1080p you should be running very high settings. You may still max out your cpu but you will be utilising your gpu more.

have you measured the temps of the cpu when running the game? what cooler do you have?
do you have a lot of processes running in the background?
