Hi, I have an I5 4440 and a Gtx 970(installed today),working with 16 gb DDR3 @1600 mhz, today I was trying to play gta 5 in very high/ultra preset keeping the 3.5 gb buffer in mind and I was just fine enough having 45-50 fps.
I lowered the settings a little more(very high) to get a stable 60 fps @1440p and then I started up obs to record at 60 fps 1440p , game started lagging badly touching 15-20 fps while recording. So I started up task manager on the slow updates mode on CPU performance(4minutes of graph) then played and recorded one process at a time and both the process at a time.
With obs alone I was getting into 15% to 20% CPU usage at a time , with gta v Alone at those settings I hit 70% to 85% CPU usage , while I clearly realize that my CPU is getting bottle necked and here comes my question will an I5 6600 non K version be enough to use obs and gta v @1440p @60FPS stable while having about 30% free CPU.I might install another 970 in sli . As I might as well be live streaming in near future in which that 30% power could be of use. Or could be playing at 4K very high, 1440p extended ultra with dual 970
