I just bought an inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop. Already upgraded the ram to 32 and have a new hdd and ssd in it. I think the processor is bottlenecking. Is it possible to upgrade, and if so, what can I take it to?

Solution
Also out of curiosity and since you seem to know what your doing, is it possible to upgrade from the Nvidia GTX 1050 TI that it came with?
No, as the gpu is likely integrated into the laptop itself, so you wouldn't be able to remove it.

You've already done the best you can do for that laptop via ram and SSD.

Bottlenecking in what, exactly?

There's no logical cpu upgrade available. The only possible upgrade, the I7-8565U, while it has 4 extra threads, it is overall slower than your current cpu.
So unless you're thread starved in your games, it'll actually be a downgrade.

Can't you go for I7-7700HQ on that motherboard? I am having somekinda issue myself with quite similar specs that this guy had. I know this post is 2 years old but it'd be awesome if you helped me out :D
