A RAM upgrade would in theory only net you 3-5fps for potentially $150+ so that would be better spent elsewhere, or more likely put to one side and saved for an upgrade.
I'm biased, I don't like my i5. I expected more of it, especially for what I paid for it. But it is seen as the standard for mid-high gaming.

The universal nod for the i5 as 'best bang for the buck' was already beginning to slightly wane even before the assorted R5 processors, but the R5-1600 sure put a serious dent in i5-7600K sales... I'm not sure what sort of dips (if any)are normal in that game....
