Hi, I have a PC that currently has an i5 7500, AMD RX580 8gb and 8gb (2x4gb) 2400mhz Ram. I'm thinking of upgrading to a cheap GTX 1080 i've found online, my question is if it would be a good combo or if it might be bottleneck for my i5 7500, thanks in advance

Solution
At 1080p Id say the i5 is limiting fps as much if not more so than the rx 580.

While the 1080 is a way better gpu its not not going to miraculously double your fps.

The rx580 is already capable of 100fps at 1080p on most games anyway.

Drop game resolution to 720p & youll see your cpu limits instantly.
Well the reason im upgrading is because I have a 1080p 144hz monitor and my target is to get at least 100fps minimum in most games even if its only at medium settings. And as for the price, the one ive found is around $340 in my country(Philippines) its a EXOC Galax brand

So does that mean that the i5 7500 wont be able to bring out much performance on the 1080?

Because right now im playing Kingdomcome Deliverance at Medium/Low settings and im getting 50-80fps depending on where im currently at.
