[SOLVED] i5 7600k to an i7 8700k

Hello, quick question.
Will I see big improvements if I plan to upgrade my motherboard and CPU? To a MSI Z370 A PRO and an i7 8700k?
I currently game at 144hz 1080p on an i5 7600k at 4.5 ghz and GTX 1080 FTW stock. I do notice some games peg my cpu to 100% usage like Black Ops 4 trying to push out a constant 144hz.

The 7600K is a good cpu, but, at only 4c/4t, it is beginning to struggle in some games that thrive on more threads...

The 8700K should be nearly ideal for your purposes, IMO....; the 9700K with full 8 cores does awesome as well.....and both give similar frame rates .

I'd say i7 8700K is good for budget. Sure the 9700K is more future proof with more cores, but it costs ~$50 more

I really don't see why you are using a 1080p monitor with a gtx 1080 ti, but if at any time you decide to go to 1440p, then yes, this pairing of cpu and gpu works very well.
