Which CPU would be better for the same price? Because I don't have to buy new RAM for the i7.
i5-7600K or i7-4790K

Solution
so the 4th gen CPU is still cheaper... if the used motherboard is not a problem passed on to you from previous owner, (good condition) then it would be my vote.. 100 euros for 10% speed loss .. get 4790K it will plat any game you have without issue
ah, well to be honest, you can find a microcenter.com store they have the 4790k @ 279.99 + 30$ off a matching motherboard,
sounds nice eh ... but if you look at the 7600 with a motherboard you will find it to be cheaper. yes it means you need to buy new ram.
but if your choices are based on the kind of ram you have the savings will pay for the new neede ram in the end.

example

Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon 4.0 GHz LGA 1150
ASUS Z97-AR LGA 1150 Intel ATX Motherboard
total price : $369.98 before taxes.

then
CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($238.64 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI Z270-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($107.27 @ Amazon)
Memory: GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($107.88 @ OutletPC)
total $446.51

a difference of 76$

and plenty of power to run any games you want, and if you need to upgrade to I7 later you can so with your z270 even push to a 7700K

A new i5-7600K, new motherboard, new RAM, new thermal paste would be about 500 euros
A used i7-4790K, used Asus Maximus VII Ranger, new thermal paste would be about 400 euros

Which would you buy?

I have same question now. I have i5-4430 now and I'll getting 4790k over 7600k. 4790k is maybe little bit more expensive but it's little better than 7600k.

4790K is not "better " than the 7600K. but it is not far behind it in power. why sometimes its worth getting one if the price is right...
in usa 7700K is 379.99, and 4790K is about 279.99, if you had to buy both with motherboard and memory, its a close call on price.
and future expansion, and new motherboards have more PCIE paths then older ones (20 versus 12) making system run smoother.
so its not just cpu versus cpu, its cpu/mobo/ram versus cpu/mobo/ram. a 7700L with a Z270/32GBram 3200 will run a lot faster than a 4790K with Z97 and 32GB 13333, its just a matter of deciding if that 10-20% less power is needed or not :)

I have RX480 now. I have 16gb ram too. So it's nice with 4790K. Is this mobo good enough to 4790k? http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z97%20extreme3/ ? does it have enough pcie paths and power?
