So I want to preface this with saying I do plan to upgrade my cpu to the i7-9700kf in the next 4 or 5 months and I just purchased the 2070S. My question is will this current setup I have cause a bottleneck and if so, how bad of a bottleneck will it be?

Solution
I would upgrade the monitor, instead of upgrading CPU.
This^^^ You'll see more of a benefit from this then the CPU upgrade.

Go 1440P/IPS or VA/Freesync (can be used with Nvidia, tutorial below).

PCPartPicker Part List
Monitor: VIOTEK GN27D 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor ($249.99 @ Amazon)

Your monitor is usually your least upgraded part so even if you can't run 144hz now you'll eventually upgrade to parts that will allow it.

Honestly the monitor is also something I am planning to replace, its an old Dell 1907FP from 2006 resolution is 1280x1024 but it is a 75hz monitor. It's damn good but getting on in years.

Thank you for all the replies, this has been a great help. I was literally about to drop 400$ on a new processor. Now I don't have to do it so soon and instead have a bit left over from my tax return.
