Wich processor would be good for gaming at ultra setting i5 8400/ i5 8500/ i5 8600/ i5 8600k, i5 8400 has Base Frequency of 2.80Gz and other have above 3Gz does the 2.80Gz effect performance?
The price difference between 8400 & 8600k is only 7 usd in my country.
Which one should I buy? I am planning for 1060 6GB GPU

If the price difference is that small then get the 8600K, even if you don't have an overclockable motherboard the higher clock speed would be the best choice.

But with 8600k I will have to get a cooler and Z370 mobo, which would cost me around $140 more, B360 mobo is for $164, Z370 mobo is for $258 and Cooler for $55, and my main purpose is gaming will the overclocking help me in gaming. PS I dont have much knowledge about overclocking

In that case I think in future if I decide to overclock it would be of no use if I buy a non oc mobo with 8600k, I can compromise on case and with ssd and spend that on z370, what say
