Looking to get an 8600K and overclocking it to 4.9/5.0GHz for best single-thread performance (Which is what I need), what cooler do you recommend keeping it at 60-70C?

Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX

These cpus run hot. If your going to do this on air your going to need a cooler like this. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF1H68938 With that you can possibly hit 5ghz but more likely 4.9ghz will keep it cool enough

If your using liquid and want to hit 5ghz you would most likely need a 360aio like this. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/c/Cor_Products_Cooling?q=%3Afeatured%3AcoolingRadiatorSize%3A360mm&text=#rotatingText

There is another option to think about. That is delidding your cpu. This can make it run anywhere from 10c to 25c or someplace in between. There is a service that does this. https://siliconlottery.com/collections/all

Okay, I will go with a Noctua NH-D15, and might think about delidding in future.
