i5 8600k + RTX 2080

So, since I installed my new RTX card I've been seeing a lot of forum posts saying it's not worth it. My CPU will bottleneck it, and so on. Am I crazy to believe that as new games are released and drivers are updated that performance will get better. To me it's still a big upgrade from my 1060.

You're only crazy if you're using a 1080p 60Hz monitor, because it will take many years before that requires such a powerful GPU. For the most part, I'd say the i5 8600K is well suited to a 2080, if you're using higher resolution or higher refresh rates.

If at 1080p 60Hz then probably not. 1080p/1440p @ 144Hz is ideal but in either resolution your fps can be quite high so you'll have to monitor your cpu usage.
