i5 8600k vs amd 2600x

Hello guys,
I am thinking of buying a new cpu! I use my pc ONLY for gaming! I am playing on a 1440p monitor!
I7 7700k ( i found one new at the same price as 8600k)
I5 8600k
2600x
Which cpu do you recommend me guys?

The 2600X is really on pair with the i5 8600.

So the 8600K is a bit better as seen here:

But that's not by much.
I'd go with the cheapest and and get nice and fast RAM to pair them with alongside a GTX 1070 or stronger.

I prefer to recommend the 2600X because I won't consider Intel at this time in order to encourage market competition and innovation. The more people do this, the better options we'll have in the future. However, it's fair to note that the 8600K is marginally better and the 8600 is cheaper.

But it's also prudent to ask:

What CPU and motherboard do you currently have?

What is your current graphics card. Your current expectations make a big impact on what you should buy.

At 1440p, there will not be a noticeable difference between any of the cpus you listed. In my opinion it's best to go with the 2600x due to its higher thread count and the fact that going with ryzen gives you a much better upgrade path than intel.
