i5 9600k will run with stock cooler?

I have a cooler master ml240r for my i5 9600k but the pump leds have stopped working so planning on send it back for a replacement. My friend said he has a spare intel stock cooler that I could use until the replacement is sent back, will it get too hot and throttle when using the cpu in games or will it be fine for a few days?

Wait till you get your replacement , 9th gen K series doesn't come with a stock cooler for a reason.

Are you 100% sure its not worth trying? it would be a nuisance to have my pc unusable on my week off.

I'd go with Blackbird's answer, Intel just keeps and keeps on rising the heat levels, their crappy stock cooler cant do the job anymore
