Guys I currently have an Intel C2D E7200 clocked at 3.6 GHz.
I am thinking of upgrading to to something better which can give me a great performance boost overall including games.
I am stuck in deciding as to which one I should buy, i5 2500k or FX-8350, both are costing me same. I need more upgrade options in future but I am not sure when I will make my next upgrade(3-4 years may be). Just help me finalize my decision making :pt1cable:
Also suggest a good mobo under 6000INR
Sites I use for buying:
flipkart.com, ebay.in and theitwares.com

Just one more doubt, will my Zalman CNPS9500A cpu cooler be able to let me overclock any of them? :na:

Thanks in advance :)

hehe i'm actually not fanboy of any kind here, but i am a fan of whats best, little AMD-boy 😉 - and please check who says what, user: "Someone Somewhere" said that your post smelled like a amd fanboy, which it do, A LOT! 🙂

The I5 will be a overall better CPU. I currently have a FX 8320. I got this because it was better budget friendly and i can overclock it to a FX 8350.
if money is not the problem, got with a I5. if under a budget, go with the FX.
As far as day to day applications, you wont notice much difference unless you run a bunch of high end applications.
Also with games, choose a video card wisely.

I have already mentioned that i5 2500k and FX-8350 is costing me the same. since one wont notice much difference in day to day applications I will go with the one which is more future proof.(which one is?:??:)

for a gaming build its a no brainer to go with the i5 3570k (or even the lower end i5's), review sites across the board have concluded this, including Toms Hardware. You would have to be using primarily video editing/encoding apps or something to make any use of the 8350's extra speed in highly threaded apps to make it a worth while purchase for similar $$$.

even new games like crisis 3 the fx is no better at, look how low the fps drops even compared to the i5 3550. there really doesn't need to be any more threads on this topic, there are at least 100 of them.

guys, I have already said this before. My confusion is between i5 2500k and 8350 as both are costing me the same. My main use: Cloud computing, Gaming, photoshop, office, browsing and android dev.
