Question i7 13700k vs i9 13900k for gaming and machine learning

i7 13700k vs i9 13900k

Hi

I am upgrading my cpu i9 9900k to either one of i7 13700k or i9 13900k. but I am not able to decide which one.

my primary use of this machine will be:

- applying lots of machine learning and data mining algorithms on various types of data (e.g., images, sound files).

- gaming



I am not into much rendering or video editing. just applying some ML algorithms for image processing.



my GPU is rtx 4090.


I understand that i9 13900k have 8 more E-cores, what are those used for essentially?
any suggestions if i9 13900k will over perform the i7 13700k by a lot?

While the GPU is the primary factor in ML process, more cores can be beneficial in non-GPU compute tasks as per the experts...
