Question i7-14700k and asus b760 ... help!! plz!

I have an i7-14700K and an ASUS TUF Gaming B760M Plus II combination. Currently, my BIOS version is 1805, and I'm using the microcode 0x12b.

I’m unsure whether to use 'Intel Default Setting' or 'ASUS Advanced OC Profile'. I’ve tested both, but I still can’t decide.

The only settings I change are 'IA CEP: Disabled' and 'CPU LLC: Level 2'. When I run Cinebench R23, here are my results:

1. With the 'ASUS Advanced OC Profile', 'IA CEP: Disabled', and 'CPU LLC: Level 2' settings:
   
   • The clock speeds are stable, with an average temperature of 79–81°C, power consumption around 210–220W, and a voltage of 1.2V (1.3–1.35V during gaming).
     
     
2. With the 'Intel Default Setting', 'IA CEP: Disabled', and 'CPU LLC: Level 2':
   
   • The clock speeds drop to 5.2 GHz under load. Everything else is almost identical to the OC profile.

However, people recommend using the 'Intel Default Setting'. Is the OC profile not good? Also, why does changing the CPU LLC to Level 2 lower the temperature and power consumption? The default is Auto (Level 3).

I’d use the Intel default. There were quite a few reports of 13th and 14th generation CPUs failing. Supposedly Intel has fixed them with microcode updates, but only time will tell I suppose. I know some videos I’d seen a while back as well suggested that some of the boards were giving too much voltage to CPUs as well. So if it were mine I’d go with the Intel default to be safe.

My motherboard only has "Performance" under the Intel Default Setting. It's a shame because people say the Extreme setting on Z-series boards is better.
Is it okay to disable IA CEP and adjust the CPU LLC value with the Intel Default Setting?

I’m not as well versed on Intel so I’ll let one of the other folks speak to that. But I would suggest making sure you have the latest bios installed so that you have the latest microcode updates.

Got it.
But do you know why the microcode version shown in the BIOS is different from what is shown in CPU-Z on the OS?
BIOS: 104, CPU-Z: 12b
