I7 2600k not reaching 4.6ghz

my config:-

haf 912
maximus v gene
i7 2600k
gskill trident x dd3 1600mhz 7-8-8-24
1 tb hdd
asus hd 6950
cx 750w psu
h80i hydro cooling system.

I overclocked for the first time today and these are the changes that i made in bios :-

1) ai overclock tuner set to manual
2) turbo ratio -> by all cores (2nd option)
3) set it at 44 for 4.4ghz
4) memory freq - ddr3 1600
5) dram timings i set it to 7-8-8-24
6) disabled enhanced intel smart technology
7) set load line caliberation to 75%
8) vcore switching frequency set to manual and changed the figure from 300 to 350
9) cpu voltage i set it to 1.37
10) ram voltage to 1.5v

i ran prime95 and did that blend test but it's reaching 84-86 degree celcius if it's beyond 4.3 ghz ... i want 4.6ghz stable .. can someone please guide me as to which other settings should i change in order to get 4.6ghz stable at max 80 degree celcius temperature ??

P.S. :- i did benchmarking and i got this result ... is tht good ?

Yeah now lower it to something like 1.33V (1.35V would be higher) and re-test again, if we can get the voltage low enough your temps will be <80C

I was referring to amuffin about showing off, not you :)

Not much you can do if you live in a hot country where the ambient temp is really high, even a better cooler would still struggle and would probably only allow you to overclock alittle more.

If I was in your situation I would just leave it at 4.4Ghz and call it a day, I'm sure 4.4Ghz is fast enough right?

Other solutions that cool below ambient are expensive and require alot of research and maintenance and wouldn't be worth the cost IMO.

82C is abit hot but if it was me I would leave it as it is (at 4.4Ghz 1.31V) as in day to day usage the load temps should be quite abit lower.
However it's your choice and if you don't feel comfortable with the temps then lower the overclock and voltage.

i play games .. watch videos movies and use internet ... i dont do video rendering and stuff like lthat ... so is it ok to leave 4.4 ghz at 1.31 v core ?? coz prime95 uses 100% of all cores whereas m not gonna do any such thing that'll use 100% of all cores so it'll neva touch 82 that ways .. wtsay ?

Yeah your right, your temps should be much lower under normal conditions (games, videos ETC..).

Keep it as it is 😉

Well your 2600K is much better than the one I had, took 1.5V+ for 5Ghz under water... awful chip.

Nice 2500K too, some people get all the luck! :kaola:
