Hello, I recently acquired an i7 3770k for a pretty decent price, after taking a further look into motherboard availability, I quickly discovered that many motherboard manufacturers are not making higher end boards for the socket 1155 anymore. Now this has risen the question, what happens in a year or two if I keep the cpu and get a board for it, how available will motherboards be since they're not being made anymore. I also have seen that ivy-bridge architecture doesn't OC as well as some of the other newer architectures. I have also noticed that there are many boards available that have the socket 1150 and would have better performance and price as well as availability down the road.
So, do I keep the 3770k and deal with the shortage of socket 1155 motherboards? Or, do I sell it and look into getting a 4790k or something else with socket 1150?
Keep in mind I don't to a lot of gaming and would be more focused on video editing or other cpu intensive tasks.
