i7 4770 bottlenecking 1060 6gb?

I recently decided to buy a msi gtx 1060 gaming x 6gb and I have gotten lower fps than I was expecting to get. For example is around 50-80 fps in minecraft. I have an i7 4770 3.40 GHz.
Do the cpu bottleneck my graphic card?

Newer CPUs can't get more than 5% IPC improvement over a Haswell chip, and an i7 is still 4C8T. Your CPU's not bottlenecking anything.

What GPU did you run before you got the 1060?

i7-4770k @ 4.3Ghz vs i7-7700k @ 5.0Ghz was a roughly 20% increase for me.

I agree though, nothing wrong with an i7-4770 and a GTX1060.

Did you plug your monitor into the GPU or is it still connected to the motherboard?

With minecraft specifically, how are you doing on RAM? World size can have a big impact and if you are using a lot of harddrive swapfile space then it could be causing the issues. Also mods to consider.

My monitor is connected to the gpu dvi port. And when i'm looking for an integrated graphic card in the device manager its not there, just the 1060 shows up. I have 16gb ram. Mods running is just pixelmon.
If it's any help i get around 90-210 fps in league of legends.
