I should prefice this by saying that I already own and use an i5-3570k. The issue is that Microcenter is having an in-store pick up only sale on the 3570k for $149 and the 4770k for $199, and I'm having trouble justifying the purchase other than because I'll likely never see one at this price for a few years.
Before I get a barrage of answers saying I'd need a new Mobo, I know, and I've needed to upgrade my current mobo that doesn't have enough sata ports for my liking anyways.
I primarily game on my computer, but I also use cad, and 3ds max and occasionally reformat movies. The other option is for my girlfriend's future build for photo editting. If anyone has an opinion I'd love to hear it.
Edit: I wound up buying it for $215 after tax. Feel great about the decision, my only issue now is that I'll have a i5 3570k not being fully utilized for secondary builds, like a nas or media center that i'd like to build in the future. Or finding out where/how to sell it.
