as it says in the title i'm wondering if my temps are on the high side. i'm using arctic silver 5 thermal paste with new Deepcool TF120 Gamerstorm fans, 1800rpm, 3.5 static pressure and 75cfm at max in a push pull as the product suggests. i was using Corsair SP120 High Performance fans at 2300rpm, 3.1 static pressure, and 61cfm.

i'm getting idle temps of about anywhere from 30c-38c and load temps at max stress test of 72c and anywhere from 50's to 70c in a title called The Division.

games like doom i get 65c ish same with GTA V, i think The Division is just a hard to run game all round. of course the temps aren't pegged at these temps, they are bouncing around as they often do in game or when doing any application.

it is rather hot this summer where the temps have been up to 36c with the humidity feeling like 43c outside

i'm just wondering if anyone else sees this as their normal temps. i have the same deepcool fan as a front intake, a Corsair AF120 High Performance as my lower intake, and 2 top exhausts all controlled by an NZXT fan controller that has a thermal probe connected to the heat sync in the GPU which is a new Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! that reaches 75c and is throttled by factory at 83c.

i'm not overclocking in anyway and i've never had an overheated shut down or a BSOD, so just lemme know what your opinions are out there.

as i wrote this post my temps were 32c at lowest.

Solution
72c under stress testing is actually very good for that CPU. Also, your video card likely has its fan speed profile set up to keep it as quiet as possible while not throttling. This won't hurt it.
you need to set the pump speed to max and the radiator fans you can keep them in a fan curve. with a push/pull config you should be getting way lower temps.

what is the room temperature? don't tell me its the same as outside. also the sun shouldn't be hitting your Pc directly

yeah, some people care more about noise, others just about the temp.
you should play around with your fan curves to see what works for you. usually if you have a loud environment you can turn them up and still don't hear them. other rooms are so quite that you will listen to every single noise....

not sure what is is inside the house. its cooler today, i've got the pump speed on performance mode and the fans on default. i live on the second floor so its automatically hotter right.

yeah the new GTX 1070 has passive cooling so the fans don't even kick on till around 60c

yeah, i picked the TF120 cause is was quieter and performed better in all areas including price per fan. so that part has been fine and when i stress tested, the fans were at 1400rpm of 1800rpm holding the temp at 72c with only the cpu being tested. in gaming situations the cpu has been as high as 70c and thats with all the fans at 90% in the case, the cpu fans at max, and the gpu at 75c in game and the gpu has till 83c before it throttles.

another thing is that when i did the stress test, it jumped up to about 64c but then slowly made its way to 72c. it wasn't an instant jump to 72c. i've been thinking of getting the H100i gt or v2 depending on whats out but i'd need a new case, as the 100i doesnt fit properly in a THERMALTAKE g42 windowed case.

the power is on molex directly and the cpu fans are controlled by the cpu pin connector on the mobo and the pump is controlled by the usb pin connector on the lower part of the mobo near where the hd audio connector is. my fans for the radiator are not hooked up to the fan controller that the case fans are plugged into

performance mode is still not 100% full speed. you need to have the pump at full speed, otherwise the fluid will not move fast enough... (although it varies on different systems)

well i upgraded to the h100i and the idle temps are still 30c and in the division the max i saw was around 60c so thats good news but it seems from some research that the i7 4790k is known for higher temps. it is a 4.0 boost to 4.4 after all straight outta the box. im happier now anyway and it is of course summer time on the second floor apartment and no hvac system cause we have radiator heat for the winter in the house. if anyone else has solutionsa or things to add please do so here. the community is always in need of answers.

It seems ambient temps are super important as well. My idle temps have been as low as 25c lately as the outside temp is at 10c during the day and 0c at night . The highest temps have been for sure and the paste has had time to set in. My max cpu only stress test is around the same today as its 15c outside but the colder days drop it about 5c on min max. So all I can say is if it's warm air around you then your pc will have warm air to work with. All in all it seems that ambient temps affect aboutique 5c in the whole picture. The rest comes down to case heat, cpu cooler and fans for said cooler. Running games shows a max of mid to high 50s in the division.
