Which one should I go for? This is for a new build so its not like a I have say an i7 3770k or something like that already and looking to upgrade. Oh and Im new to this so Im not to keen on oc'ing but when that day comes when it starts to show its age I might consider it.

Thanks

If your using this build for gaming, You really wont see more than a 5 FPS difference in certain games taking the 6700k over the 4790k. People may tell you about differences in PCIe lanes with the newer chips, but in real world gaming it wont really make a difference. Personally I would take the 4790k. I don't know how much the 6700k will be at release, I didn't look, but any savings by sticking with the Devils canyon could toward GPU.

Yeah for gaming and was thinking this also but what about the ddr4 ram? Is it much faster than ddr3 ram?

I don't have it personally, but I hear the speed is faster, but latency is higher, so I believe at this stage DDR4 is pointless for gaming rigs. It's more for servers I think so far.

Edit: Pointless as far as pretty even with DDR3, not pointless as in worse.

Well thanks im going with the i7 4790k
