As the title briefly states, I would like to know what is considered as 'safe temperatures' based on certain CPU tenuous activities such as gaming and rendering videos. The reason I am asking this question in the first place is because recently I have tried my hand at editing gaming videos in SV13. However, my CPU cores run up to an average of 86-94 Celsius while rendering under load. Granted this may be due to the fact that my cooler is, as of right now, the intel stock cooler.. I have already placed an order on a corsair AIO liquid cooler though which should be with me by 6th may (thanks to their recall). Should I just avoid rendering until my cooler arrives? Thanks :)

Intel states that the TCASE_MAX (°C) is 72.72°C at stock clock and full load. You should always try to keep the TCASE below 72.72°C if you want your processor to last.

Thermal Control Circuit (TCC) Activation is at 100°C.
core temps is usually around 90c before it throttles back to lower temps. so at 90c your losing performance, so either wait to continue rendering until the new cooler comes, or check the bios for voltages, as 1.3v is the highest one should go without a high end cooler, so should be lower. Could try to remount the stock cooler, but might as well wait then.

dude the throttle is at 105C or 100C i think they changed it for the devils canyon and haswell/ivy has the same throttle temp

so max voltage for OC is 1.3V

Shutdown Temp is 125C before the cpu becomes conductive and fry's it self

Intel recommended temp is around 80C~ and IMO a 22nm chip SHOULD NO GO ABOVE 85C for 24/7 if u want it to last a while that is

According to command centre and CPU Z my CPU core voltages are @ 0.8v

Okay, so the cooler I wanted finally came out of recall (aww yeeeeeeeeeeee)! It arrived today, installed it and tested a render. My max temps at 100% load are now 56 c instead of 86- 96c. The CPU cooler is a tank!
