razor blade stealth with 6800xt
the 3080 is about the same performance so i’ll just use it as reference.
if i was going to put a 3080 inside of a razor core and connect it to my razor blade stealth 4k display with i7 6500u. how much bottleneckint there be? because i know the higher the resolution the less the cpu matters but i know there will still be a lot of bottlenecking and all of that. anything will help and thank you for your time :D

While the cpu will be the bottleneck in most cases, the effect will be lessened in 4k.

There is a whole nother problem though.
The thunderbolt cable.

The rtx 3080 is close to being bottlenecked by 16x gen 3 speeds, so 4x is not gonna be good for it.

I found this post with a translation for a chinese video talking about the subject

The main thing to take is:
The 3080 using 4 lanes is worse than the integrated MAX Q rtx 2080. (max q meaning, its a clocked down 2080.)

I understand that but im not going to purchase a laptop with a 2080 max q. Id rather purchase a gpu that I can use in my laptop and my pc depending on the situation.
