Before you yell at me for posting something that has already been answered, mines a little different. I'm getting a new PC for Christmas and my mom has told me i have to get it from Best Buy (don't ask me why, but she trust them and only buys electronics from them). My budget is $1200 and these are the two that i have to decide between

the only difference i can tell is that the orange and black has a 6700k and 2400hz ram compared to the blue which has 6700 and 2133hz ram. and the orange is ugly as nuts

Is it worth is to get the orange one? even though it is super ugly and a tad more expensive?

And no i cannot just build it myself, i have tried persuading her that it would be easier and cheaper and i would be able to get a better computer. However she is not an easy woman to persuade. Thanks for the help

Solution
Since you are spending over 1k, I would say it's worth 20$. K edition is unclocking so you can get more out of it by overclocking. If you ask them they might take the cpu/ram from the orange and put it in the white one. It might take a couple days for them to do it if they do though.

they are the same case so idk why its ugly one is just has a little orange which you can paint and also the 6700k is unlocked like he said above and also has a high stock clock also . It depends if your into overclocking or not, your going to need a aftermarket cooler if your going to overclock though. Once the overclocking bug bites you its hard to stop.

Obviously The 6700k is Better Option. As without OC its still clocked higher than 6700. Also Keep One thing in Mind -

Color is not more important than CPU, And 2133mhz vs 2400 mhz would make No Difference.
Get The K version. It'd require a Better Cooler Tho..

to tell you the truth for gaming they are both great cpus the 6700k edges out the 6700 but its still more then enough for gaming. And i hate when people say "future proofing" my old system that my wife is using is a i7 2600k non oc'ed with a gtx 980 and that will run most all games at 1080p no problems and that setup besides the gpu is 4 years. So bottom line by the time any cpu becomes out dated its going to be 6-8years. and also the 6700k does come with a liquid cooler

Simple, 6700k comes clocked at 4.0 ghz. the 6700 NON K comes clcoked at 3.5ghz. id take a ugly case for 6700k anyday. Also the ddr4 2400 is much more future proof for games.

I've always said the same thing, as it was true, but things may be changing. Look at this review. There is a comparison between Dual core and quad core Skylake CPU's about 30% of the way down. They have two i3's running with two different memory speeds with some current games. Other than memory, they are the same, and there is some small and dramatic improvements due to memory speed.

It may be due to the way current consoles share a memory pool, and as a result, there is much more data transfers over memory. If that is the case, we'll likely see more of this type of behavior. Fallout 4 also benefits greatly:http://www.techspot.com/review/1089-fallout-4-benchmarks/page6.html
