Hello
I really, really need your help to decide the CPU.

I am building new PC and i want to call it PC workstation.

My major work is 3D rendering interior exterior render scenes in HD resolution, with heavy 3D files and high polygon count.

I think this CPU i7 6700K SKYLAKE will do the job i. it is not the beast i would like to have but i think it will perform great with heavy 3D files and improve render time, which is the most important thing for me.

My new PC specs:
Motherboard: Asrock Z170 Extreme7+
CPU: INTEL i7 6700K SKYLAKE
Cooler: Noctua NH-C14S
RAM: CORSAIR CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 VENGEANCE LPX BLACK 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 2133MHZ DUAL KIT
GPU: VGA MSI GEFORCE GTX960 4GD5T
PSU: CORSAIR CS SERIES MODULAR CS850M 850W 80PLUS GOLD CERTIFIED
PC Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro
PC Fans: Be Quiet Pure Wings 2 120mm x3pcs
SSD: SAMSUNG MZ-75E250B/EU 850 EVO SERIES 250GB 2.5'' SATA3
i will use my old HDD with that machine

Total cost 1650 euros

Thank you in advance

First, the software has to utilize GPUs. Second, it usually uses both if you can use GPU.

Hello what programs do you use for render and how do you set it up to render with your GPU?

Also if you wanted to get a Xeon as you mentioned, it looks like the ASUS doesn't support ECC. I'll look more into that. The ASUS has higher OC ram speed availability, USB 3.1, wifi, more connectors etc.

The Asrock is also a 2014 board. I showed you top end ones earlier.
This is a good one as well, MSI X99A SLI PLUS

They all have their differences, ie chipsets, PCIe setups, ram config and OC abillity, USB outputs, M.2 Connectors. Depends what you need. And since you're just rendering you don't really need the 300$+ one.

Hello! I mostly work with Blender.
