Ram - ddr4 Gskill 3400mhz ram (2133mhz default, xmp profile crashes)
Mobo - Asus Z170a

So. i can oc my cpu with no problem very easy. but everytime i tried to enable xmp profile. it crashes my computer, i tried using asus optimal thing they ocd it to 3000mhz ish, and it turned on the computer i was very excited then it crashed after a few minutes, right now im clueless i dont know what to do,this is my 2nd time trying to overclock something, im very noob)

Thank you all for reading this and helping

Use manual settings on the memory go into memory latency settings and write the specific cas latency your memory has the thing is also let's say you set ur memory at 3000mhz you can lower ur cas latency when downclocking the memory usually so if you have cas 17 on max memory speed ur setting ur memory 400mhz below the specs try and lower cas latency to 14 or 15 and pick command rate to 1 instead of 2 if it boots .

I don't know how to manually write lantancy my Asus z170a mobo is very confusing there are too many numbers in it so I tried to manully oc it today to 3000mhz and let them write numbers auto with my CPU to 4.5 GHz it worked for a couple hours and then crashed I guess is my cooler Master evo 212 not enough so I decided to get a h115i too bad it's defective I am so tired with water cooling I just placed a order for dark Rock pro 3 hopefully I can try to oc it again when it arrives
