I7-7700 vs I7-2600k

If I were to go from an I7-2600K 3.4ghz overlocked to 3.7ghz

To an I7-7700 3.6ghz (turbo mode 4.2ghz) how much of an improvement would I see and is it even worth upgrading to it?

(I'm getting everything upgraded so just want to know if this cpu is worth the upgrade)

Thanks to IPC improvements up to Skylake (Kaby Lake IPC is same as Skylake), that 3.6GHz stock frequency is going to feel like 4.5-5GHz on your old CPU would. The 4.2GHz turbo will probably be heaven for you.

Depends on what you are actually doing, but yes, of course you will see and incredible boost.
