Hey there,
I got a few months ago a MSI GE72VR 7RF Apache Pro with an i7-7700HQ.

Temps idle (Chrome, Spotify, and other stuff opened) are around 80ºC and while gaming (PUBG) it is REALLY close to 100ºC.

I'm extremely worried about it. Should I open it and change the thermal past to something better? I already cleaned it but it wasn't dirty at all, almost no dust.

I also got a CoolerMaster CMSTORM SF-17 cooling pad but it doesn't really help.

Room about 26ºC.

I'd dust it out just to make sure it isn't dust (highly doubtful but you never know).

If you want to do it yourself, try changing the thermal paste out on the CPU. But I'd highly recommend contacting MSI support regarding the matter, it could be an issue when the laptop was built by them.

How dangerous is this issue? I've been using it for a few months and I just realized sometimes I get low FPS on PUBG (not other games) and started monitoring temps.

If the laptop is under warranty, then contact the seller or MSI about the high temp issue. Idle temp should be near 30s. If your idle is 80C then it does not take long for your system to throttle back when CPU temp hit 100C. According to Intel, 100C is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor die.

Get your system fix while it is under warranty. If you fix it your self and not able to fix it, MSI may not honor warranty since they may blame you for it.

"Processor die" means literally DIE or just shut down to cool itself?

I think "Processor die" refer to the core of CPU and not the package. You have 4 cores in the CPU. Each of your core runs between 92 and 96C, the package is at 96C. They are running close to max 100C. Send it back to get it fix if it is still under warranty. If you don't have it fix, soon your system may get worse and it will constantly throttle back or lock up the system due to high temp.

I just send a message to technical support. Thanks for your help
