My friend has his 7700K running @4.9 Ghz on a Cryorig R1 with 1.3 volts. Max temps under load are in the ball park of 79 degrees (it is a bit high, but still doable).

Is it true that you can overclock the i7 7700k at 5ghz with air cooling? And what temperature does it run at?
Air Cooling will usually top any CLC type water cooling and w/ a lot less noise, and yet many folks still operate under the perception that just introducing water will make all things better. 5.0 Ghz is certainly doable. In reality it's not the OC itself but the voltage required to get there that matters. One guy did it with a Noctua C14S
