So I just installed my new i7 7700k last night on my ASRock Z270 Killer mobo with a Hyper 212 LED and I am having issues with temp spikes while idling.... I will be sitting here monitoring my CPU core temps and it will be running around 19c-25c but for about 1 second or so out of nowhere it will spike up to 50c on 1-2 cores... I know I have installed all my hardware properly and thermal paste was applied correctly(if it wasn't it would be constantly running hot). Maybe this shouldn't worry me at all because when I was playing BF1 max settings and The Division max settings the highest temp I ever saw was 71c. I would like to hear other peoples thoughts on why the temps are spiking for that 1-2 seconds and if it is potentially dangerous for the CPU? It seems like it might be a Kaby Lake thing but I'm not to sure...

I'm having the same problem.

Here's a thread on Intel's forum about the issue: https://communities.intel.com/thread/110728. Nothing useful realy, but Intel's says they're investigating.
