i7 7700k trouble

so yesterday i got the i7 7700k i installed it and my onboard audio stopped working, in bios it said that the front and rear jacks were "disconnected". today i replaced the i7 with my other one and booted up, everything was just fine, i had the onboard audio and everything. So i was thinking of putting the 7700k back in and i did and same results...no audio.

i dont want to waste 4300 Skr on something that doesnt work properly, please help!

bios, not driver. what is the make and model of the motherboard?

If you are using a 100 series motherboard you will need to update the bios to enable support for a Kaby lake cpu. The bios file and istructions for upgrading the bios will be available on the motherboard manufactures support site.

no i havent and how do i clear nvram?

Most likely bios is still not caugh up to new kaby lake CPus on some z170 boards probably should have got a z270.

Just short the two pins with a flat head screwdriver or something for a few seconds with the power off.
