i7-7700k with 8GB of memory, or i5-7600k with 16GB of memory, which is better?

Would I be better off getting an i7-7700k with 8GB of memory, or an i5-7600k with 16GB of memory? I plan on using my computer mostly for gaming, and I plan on buying a GTX 1060 3GB with a ASRock Killer SLI/AC motherboard.

If you game, you don't need 16GB alltho they are usefull. The 7700k and the 7600k should be the same in haming so my recommendation for gaming is the 7600k, 8GB of ram and using the money from the other 8GB stick for a 1060 6GB since that WILL make a difference, also, upgrading a gpu is hard because you have to sell your old gpu (and lose a lot of money there) and then get a new one where ram is "plug and play" plug it in and you are ready, should male for an easier upgrade.

Thanks for your answer, that's what I might do. The cheapest 1060 6gb is the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OCV1, with 1.54ghz of core clock. Do you think this is sufficent?

The i5-7600k and the i7-7700K are NOT the same in gaming...; the latter is clocked higher, and, has double the thread count due to hyperthreading.

I'd choose an R5-1600 and B350 board before any i5 today.....
