i7-860 upgrade or Gpu upgrade?

Currently have an i7-860 (overclocked to 4ghz) with an Gigabyte HD7950 Windforce edition (overclocked as well)....Running most of my games just fine..but would like to start to upgrade and I'm not sure if I should upgrade the cpu/mobo first or the gpu. Not sure if 3dMark Vantage scores are anything to go on...but if they are...the highest score seems to be to keep the cpu an add a gtx 970 or something in that range. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

The i7 860 is still a decent CPU, especially since it has a nice overclock on it. So yes, I would first get a new GPU, though the 7950 also is still a decent GPU. A decent upgrade would be a GTX 970 or R9 390, anything below that would perform about the same.

Id go for a GPU upgrade first since that is still a capable CPU, id upgrade to something like AMD Zen or Intel's kaby lake when they come out and get some DDR4 ram with it.
