i7 8700 vs Ryzen 1700

In my country Ryzen 1700 is available at 366USD and Intel i7 8700(non K) at 383USD. Which one is better deal ?

The system will be for video editing, tutorial making etc. I play casual games.

The 8700 is the better CPU for gaming however if you need the extra cores/threads of the 1700 then it may be the better choice.

Considering that the motherboard for the 1700 (I would go with the B350) would be much cheaper as the "budget" boards haven't released for Coffeelake then it may be the better option.

What if i do not game!! Then Should i go for Ryzen 1700 over i7 8700?? [There is not much price difference between the two and 8700 is costlier than 1700 in US]

If i go for i7 8700 then which board should i buy?

The price for the CPU's may be similar however the motherboard pricing can be quite drastic, also if you went with the 1700 you would need to buy a dedicated GPU as the 1700 has no onboard video.
