i got the asus prime z370-a with i7 8700k and h100i v2. i ran realbench for 5 min with a oc of 5ghz and 1.380v and my temps were already up to 93. i feel like thats way too high for my setup even with the overclock, im worried my h100i isnt performing how it should, i have resat my heatsink plenty of times and that never did much, i disabled q fan control so everything is running 100% and my cooling is set to performance. i got to fans in the front as intake, one on the side as a intake, one in the back for exhaust and the radiator on top exhausting. i have looked in to delidding and i know that will help a lot but i feel like even without delidding my temps should be better. anything?

Solution
Those temps are in line for what you have. 1.38v is fairly high. The h100i v2.0 while good, is going to run hot during stress testing. My lessor i5 8600k runs around 92c when stressed with prime95. Thought during gaming with Battlefield 1 I rarely see over 70c. My setting are 1.334 with llc set at 4. Considering you have 6cores and 6 threads, it makes sense that you need more vcore and that 5ghz would get hotter for you.

Make sure your running the aio in performance mode during testing. Frankly though, since your cpu is going to run hotter then a 6 core cpu with no threads, I would say you need to go with a 280mm aio or perhaps a 360mm aio, if you can fit it in your case.
Are your temps that high without the oc? If yes, then the cooler may be defective. If not, then delidding might be the key to solve ur problem. I would also suggest running a standart air cooler if you have a spare one and apply stock settings to check temps. Good luck.

i was just wondering what the usual is for around the same voltage. temp wise to see if im running super hot compared to others

Check the pump speed.. my larger 115i cooler has 2 pump settings my CPU gets too hot on the slow mode.. (my pump runs about 3060rpm to 3090rpm constant. On quiet mode for the pump speed it sticks at 1950 to 2010RPM and the temps go up pretty fast. it needs to be set at the 3000rpm performance mode. my fans auto change the rpm depending on the water temps but if the pump is not going fast the water does not heat up as much and the cpu temps go up quite fast when taxing the system.

another thing to see is if you have the side off your computer case with the stuff running does the temps get too hot still? If your temps improve then its either your cooler placement (the rad) or not enough air flow threw the case.

Agree with urbancamper on the temps being right based on your vcore, but I think you need to see whether you can get your vcore down a bit as that is quiet high for a 5GHz overclock. Have you tried an offset or adaptive mode at all? I got mine down to 1.325v for 5GHz on my 8700K and after much playing around I am at 1.27v for a 4.9GHz on a offset though with a Gigabyte z370 Gaming 7...
