[SOLVED] i7 8700k or Ryzen 2700x

Im about to update my rig mainly my CPU (i5 8600k) and i was pretty confident bout upgrading to the i7 8700k but, i stumbled across the Ryzen 2700x. it looks amazing and what you get for the price i was wondering if its worth it.

AMD is better for multithreaded applications and the i7 is better for gaming. I assume the price gap is pretty significant and I'd recommend the 2700x

The i7 Would be better overall in gaming and daily related stuff due to the better single core performance, the Ryzen is mainly for editing and work related stuff and you dont need a new motherboard, the money you save from the 8700k would just go to the new mobo for the Ryzen so just stick to the intel

If you want the best of both worlds , Gaming and Productivity get the 2700x.

Personally i'd go for a 2700x system or wait for Ryzen 3xxx series which is coming very soon and will probably be even better than the 2700x by 10-20%

2700x for both. 8700k if you want gaming only. Both are powerhouses, but the 2 extra cores for the 2700x will help in productivity. Streaming will be able to do on both chips.

No, not worth it since you already have the 8600K machine now, just swap out the CPU to the 8700K.

That or update the BIOS on the MB and get either a 9700K or 9900K, it all up to you. You have plenty of choices in CPU's on your current setup.

From.scratch I'd say the 2700x but in your case the 8700x makes more sense
