Question i7 8700k Overclocking help/troubleshooting

Hi, I have been having issues running my i7 8700k at 5.0 ghz. I currently have it running at 4.8 ghz and still have some thermal headroom whilst running at 1.27 volts. I have attempted to run at 5.0 ghz multiple times and even at 1.37 volts, i can run intell burn in test and aida 64 and prime 95 with no issues, yet i still get the bsod randomly. I have followed an overclocking guide by derbaur and my motherboard is sufficient (asus z370-e)

Any help on what i might be missing?

Just like that guy try and run the cpu at higher voltage if it is not thermal throtteling

If you have XMP enabled, try and disable it while finding your stable CPU overclock. Your XMP might be unstable. Eliminate it from the equation.
When you found your stable OC, you can always enable XMP again.
