[SOLVED] i7 8700k with Asus Prime z270a

Hey guys,

So, I am completly new to pc-building and just build a system. But there is one slight problem, it won't post.

I've got an asus prime 270a, an intel core i7 8700k and an asus gtx 1070.

I read an article online that states that an core i5 isn't compatible with an z270. Anyway I don't know if this is actually the problem.

Do you have any thaughts?

The 8700k(8th gen) requires a 300 series motherboard. The Z270 supports 6th and 7th gen cpus.

yep that the problem, the 8th gen CPUs only work with 300 series motherbaords
