hey all,

i would like honest answers from you, i basically got the i7 2760QM 6mb cache, and thinking of sending it back to the seller so i can get a refund so i can buy the i7 2860qm 8mb cache.

so do you think that it's worth it to upgrade to i7 2860qm ???

thank you all

No. There will be no noticeable difference if that's the only thing changing.

i want to ask you guys if there will be no difference in the performance then why does intel produce them ? i mean why they dont just stay with 2760qm then jump to the 3rd gen CPUs?

When they make CPUs they make them on a big wafer of silicon. The quality varies depending on a variety of things and they have to sell all of them so instead of throwing a bunch of them away they bin them at a lower speed. The 2760 and the 2860 ( and others of the same product line ) could come off the same wafer. The higher quality chips are sold as higher end parts with faster speeds. Also they need to cover every market segment.
