Hello.
Yesterday I have overcloced my cpu a bit and i'm not sure if thats temps are good enough or i have to downclock a bit.
REAL_TEMP.jpg

My spec is:
MB: Asus P6T SE
CPU: I7 920
Cooler: SilentinumPC Fortis 3
Ram; 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance

Bios setup is: BCLK: 205, CPU multiplier: 19 and Voltage 1.3175

Solution
Those temperatures are fine, as long as it stays below 80c then you are fine, but no doubt your temperatures will not go over 70c, so there's nothing to worry about, as it only goes above 70c.

Most people aim for below 70c so if you would like to downclock then that is up to you, but to me them temperatures are fine.

The TCase temperatures on the official Intel website advertises 67.9c, so as long as it stays below that it should definitely be fine.

1) You are only at 2.8GH, NOT 3.9! In fact, I've never seen a non-liquid cooled nahalem that high
2) Your temps are hitting 85C, not dangerous, but you are definitely reaching your max clock there. If you have water cooling, that actually IS dangerous and you should dial back the overclock until the coolant temp doesn't cross 60C (usually cpu temp of ~75C)

In the second screenshot (Real Temp), you can see temperatures in Celsius and just below the Distance to TJMax. With core #1, temp is 41 and distance to TJMax is 56, so max temp is 41+56 = 97 Celsius. You'll see this max temp is the same, naturally, for all cores. Then in screenshot #1, for different levels of CPU work (from 100% to idle), you have distances to TJMax. So all the temp info is there. Hope it clarifies it 😉

Not sure if Realtemp is reading his overclock correctly going by XS bench?

Can try lower cpu voltage and disable HT to improve on temps;

This is what i found stable for my overclock you can try, using a lower voltage will certainly help temps.

CPU Ratio: 21
BCLK FREQ: 191
PCIE FREQ: 100
DRAM FREQ: 1149
UCLK FREQ: 2298
QPI LINK: AUTO

______

CPU VOLTAGE: 1.27
CPU PLL: 1.88
QPI/DRAM 1.25
C1E SUPPORT: ENABLED
HT: DISABLED
A20M: DISABLED
INTEL CSTATE: DISABLED

Latest bios revision in my sig for the delux board gave me the 21 multiplier where before was only 20, not needing as much BCLK either then. Memory speed i dropped as well.

When I had HT turned off It could work stable with CPU Ratio: 21, BCLK: 195 and CPU VOLTAGE: 1.28~ but then sometimes while playing it was 100% utilization and that is why I'm trying to get stable when HT turned on.

After one day more testing i know that there are no point in have HT enabled, maybe there is not 100% cpu usage but there are no more FPS with that.
So after that I have changed my bios setup to BCLK: 200, Clock ratio: 21, CPU Voltage 1.38~ and ofcourse HT disabled. And even with that high OC i have temperatures like that .
When while playing in The Crew that is on ultra around 95-100% CPU usage all the time i didnt get more than 71 degree so it is very good in my opinion.

Thanks all for help. I think that it's good OC for me.

I mean that while playing i have no more than 71c. I have MSI Afterburner + Rivatuner and I checked max temperature after ~2h playing. It was all the time 90-100% CPU usage becouse this game is very cpu intensive.
