I've been throwing around the thought of buying a new motherboard:https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144217&ignorebbr=1 and an i7-9700k and i was wondering if an nzxt kraken m22 i have already would be sufficient to cool it (no overclock). Will it run too hot?

Solution
It's going to be borderline, at absolute best - and that's in a 'typical' load, and nowhere near a stress test etc.

9700K ran in the 70's (nonAVX) and ~90'C (w/AVX) with an H115i , 280mm AIO.

If you already have the M22, then there's no harm in testing out it to verify - you're not going to fry anything in attempting to do so..... But my best guess would be that it's not going to be able to handle it adequately.
The sibling I5-9600K has had heat issues with a Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler. So I'm sure the i7-9700K would overheat with just that CPU cooler.

I would suggest this one as a minimum. It has 2 x 140mm fans and a 315.00 x 143.00 x 30.00 mm radiator.
