I snagged the 965, Rampage 2, and the ABS Tagan ITZ 1100w for $1600.

ALL the triple channel Kits are sold out.... as well as all the Intel X25-M's.

damm Dude you brave :)
i sold my old rig and working on p4 2.4 for now. This is ridiculous!!!
So i need your "review" asap :) i am getting suicidal here lol

I wouldn't jump the gun and buy something like that this new. You gotta give Intel time to fix the bugs. Plus, the prices will go down and i'd rather buy the top of the line i7 Core but paying over a grand for it is absolutely ridiculous.

Besides, I'm going to wait to see how the Phenom II X4's coming out perform. I'm still running a Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz and don't see a reason to upgrade at the moment.

Jump the gun? When do you think the price is going to drop on the 965? January? July? When Intel releases a new one in March, I will toss this one up on EBay, sell it at a 20% loss to someone like you looking for a discount, and buy the new one. I'll be well set-up for it and have 'rented' the 965 for 5 months for 200-300 bucks.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Enjoy your Q6600 at 3.0 and ill enjoy my 965 at 4.2.

I'll probably just keep the 965, at least until the 32nm stuff comes out. Besides, the prices don't drop on extreme edition parts - the QX9650, released about a year ago, is still going for $1000 on Newegg.

FrozenCPU ftw, I shop there all the time. Also check out Sidewinder Computers cjl, if you havnt already. Ive also found myself shopping at mwave alot more than Newegg lately. mwave has competitive prices and a large stock.

I have to say, I'm definitely partial to Newegg. However, since they didn't have any 1366 heatsinks in stock, I went with FrozenCPU, and I couldn't be happier with the way the purchase went. I couldn't recommend them more. Definitely a great place.

Yea Frozen is good stuff. They may be a little more expensive than some, but there is a pretty damn good chance they have what you are looking for. The only thing they have a problem with is customer reviews, or the lack of. Which isnt really a big deal but /shrug.

Update!! Everything but mobo is on hand. Motherboard will be here Friday. Then the fun will begin.

I dont have any uber GPUs so if you want a special review I take donations. LOL!

For now I will be running a 4670, other parts were more important, and the whole build will be $2000+ when done. I got to get it running tomorrow and keep adding to it.

Im not touching the bios until swiftech gets their **** together and starts shipping GTZ i7 retentions.

Ok. Maybe just a little...

call it what you want. i would bet money the some of the highlighted issues with the fix are across all x58 platforms. if you even mess with nvidia chipsets you know evga has their updates out before anyone.

# Fixes bug with RAID on ports 4 and 5.
# Enabling Dummy O.C now disables C1E/EIST
# Fixes issue where system will not boot with a VTT voltage over +400mV.
# CPU PLL now goes lower than 1.3v.
# Enabled CL5 and TRAS 15.
# Now pressing insert before power on automatically loads Safe Defaults (PS2 only)

then a couple specific additions specific to their platform like the ability to save multiple oc profiles, compatability with ther oc tool.

I have to say, although I got the P6T, I seriously considered the EVGA board. I love EVGA in general, and I try to buy their products (as much as anything because of the support - they certainly are among the best in that respect). I did eventually settle on the Asus though - I just like the layout a bit better.
