Question i9 12900ks

ok tdlr is i had a massive cocla slipped into my case after i was a idiot and knocked a can of coke over my case
so what happen is my whole pc was full of it and i was able to recover most parts nvmes and ram and hdds
but here what i want to ask would a cpu be dead if in a new board it would get hot but the board gets stuck on cpu debug light doesnt move

but when i pulled the old board apart i did see some water coke dripped on the cpu socket plate but the bottom of the cpu has little of discolouring

I would assume that you already cleaned the CPU top and bottom with some strong isopropyl alcohol. With something like this the easiest thing to assume is that if it was powered on anything could have been damaged on the short.

I hate it for you as a 12900KS is no slouch.

yes i did with rubbing achocl 64% top and bottom so yeah i had a feeling it would be
um just a quick question would it kill a new board or is that like old days now ?

Any time you connect possibly damaged hardware to good hardware there is a risk of damage. I think in this case it 'might' be a lowered risk given the specifics and that the motherboard is showing an issue (with CPU).

yeah because it stays on cpu debug light so i really hope i havent

but this did happen a couple of weeks ago did clean it but before and place in a bag and stored then cleaned again top but i didnt think of cleaning the bottom untill i actually knew it was cpu debug light and then took the clean out and cleaned it then tired again 2 times so as i said i really hope i havent weridly the cpu was getting warm but no post stuck on debug light

Are you using new RAM as well, or the old RAM?

If you aren't already take the new motherboard and put it on the top of its box. Connect one stick of known good RAM, don't use GPU or anything else. CPU and cooler, connect to the known good power supply and turn the board on to see if you get a POST. Try each RAM slot one at a time to see if perhaps the memory controller got damaged.

old ram works i have tested it another board i was building for my mum and i did that one stick in a2 slot old gpu intel arc 750 and 750w antec psu old cooler sliverstone myst 420

just havent been able to test this cpu because i didnt have a board till the other day rtx 4080 old build works new psu old ram 128gb ddr4 ram 32000

also when testing the cpu the montior did know there was a singal when plugged in but no post thats why i was ok um gpu but when i checked it was cpu debug light so im really thinking the cpu is gone
