iam planning to get the i9 13900k but iam a little worried of its base frequency of 3.0ghz i think its very low
so should i go for the i5 13600k because it has higher base frequency of 3.5ghz
bcz i read that the higher the base frequency the faster the cpu
so which one should i go for
my use is gaming and rendering also work

The i9-13900K puts the i5-13600K in its back pocket and walks away. 😉

You can ignore the base frequency, it becomes more meaningless with every generation. The 13900K has the higher clocks across the board, the all core boost for the P cores is 5.2Ghz and 4.1Ghz for the E cores. For the 13600K it's 4.9Ghz for the P cores and 3.9Ghz for the E cores.

The 13900K has two main power states, PL1 at 125W and PL2 at 253W, the base frequency is related to PL1 and boost is related to PL2. In the past there was a time limit of 56 seconds set to PL2 (ignored by most retail boards) meaning the CPU's would only boost for short periods. By default however there is no restriction on the amount of time 13th gen can stay at PL2. So it will remain at it's boost frequency under load, this is why the base clock is not helpful in determining overall CPU performance.

Be aware you both CPU's need good coolers, this is especially true of the 13900K. I wouldn't advise anything less than a 360mm AIO liquid cooler.
