hey, i am looking for a gaming CPU, what woud be better? 10900 or 9900 also keep in mind that im not tlaking about Ks or XE or whatever that is

If you're not on budget and you're starting from a new build, you're better off going with ryzen. That being said, you cant go wrong with either one

If you don't have a Z390 motherboard already, why buy one now when there will be no new CPUs for it? If you decide to go the Intel route, i'd get 10600k. and in the future you'd be able to upgrade to the 11th gen CPU with PCIe 4.0 support (I imagine in 3+ years GPUs and NVME drives might benefit from the extra bandwidth when you consider the total amount of data moving across the bus). But I agree with the above poster, and would go with (X570 /B550)/Ryzen (and I did).

What make and resolution is your monitor?

For the absolute max frames at 1080p the Intel. When you get into 1440p things are not as slanted toward Intel and at 4k it wouldn't make a difference. In fact at higher resolutions the 10900 is complete overkill.

But overclocking is practically a must for these cpus. You gotta go all the way with an Intel cpu.

10700. 8 cores 16 threads with a 4.6 all core boost speed.

Your going to need a good cooler either air or water.

You can compare prices on a 9900K/Z390 and 10700K/Z490 combos...

The extra two cores/four threads of the 10900K require extra beefy cooling, and, are not yet of any real use in gaming....(I suspect by the time they are, we will be at DDR5 and PCI-e 5.0 anyway)
