Solution
Both the i7-10700K and i9-9900K are practically the same processor. They both have 8 cores with 16 threads, and run at similar clock rates under load. Intel has been shifting core counts to lower price points to stay competitive with AMD's recent offerings, so what was an i9 last generation is now an i7. The newer 10-series processors do require the newer 400-chipset motherboards though.

i7-10700K or i9-10700K why go for i7 ? i want more power for rendering
10700K basically is a 9900K, but on a newer platform.

Why go for i7? Did you not take a look through the Pudgetsystems link on After Effects cpu performance?
It's only a few % slower than the i9, and doesn't require quite as exotic cooling, so you would save some money on the initial investment.
