I got a msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard with a i7 4790 16gig ram vengeance Corsair vs550 feeding.
Is that suitable with a msi 970 gtx 4 gig graphics card
Since i saw that the graphics card runs with directx 12
And the motherboard had directx 11

It will all work fine and good, that direct x stuff doesn't really matter unless you download it or get windows 10 and have games that work with DX12, dont worry about it. What you should worry about if that PSU, it has enough wattage for it, but its a bad PSU. Why use a bad PSU with all them high quality parts. Go for like a EVGA GS, G2, P2 series one instead

Nothing will change. what I meant is like to use DX12 features, you have to have windows 10 or download DX12 itself. You will still run games fine and DX12 games fine. No difference, sorry if I confused you

The motherboards DX11 support in in reference to the IGPus not any dedicated cards.

Great PSU is capable of running 2 970s in SLI.
